ISO 14001

Accreditation to the BS EN ISO 14001 : 2004 standard in 2006 was the culmination of and reward for many years work and dedication to the cause of ethical and environmentally sound production management.

Our Environmental Management System focuses on the diverse areas of our business in which we seek to take a more environmentally aware stance. These included certain key issues:

  • Minimisation of emissions
  • Reduction in consumption of natural resources
  • Minimisation of waste of natural resources
  • Reduction in consumption of hazardous chemicals
  • Safe storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals
  • A more environmentally focussed purchasing policy
  • Reduction in packaging materials
  • Greater control in supply chain management
  • Increase in environmental awareness of both employees and customers through training and communication

Such was the success of our own Environmental Management System that formal accreditation to ISO 14001 was achieved relatively quickly.

Since then we have continued to adapt and update our systems to ensure ongoing compliance. We work with our suppliers – and indeed our customers – to reflect our concerns for the environment and involve the entire workforce in our ethical approach.
